Country Carpenters, a leader in post and beam construction, is proud to announce a partnership with WFSB Channel 3, Connecticut’s number one news station.
The partnership also marks the start of a groundbreaking project: Country Carpenters will construct a brand-new outdoor studio at WFSB 3’s headquarters in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. Featuring Country Carpenters’ classic New England style post and beam construction, the first outdoor studio for WFSB Channel 3 will become a central hub for live weather broadcasts, Great Day segments, and sit-down interviews.
To bring this vision to life, Country Carpenters is customizing its New England style Country Cabin for the project. Known for its timeless design and handcrafted quality, the Country Cabin will provide a functional and visually stunning backdrop for a variety of on-air uses. The outdoor studio is expected to play a significant role in WFSB Channel 3’s live weather updates and community-focused programming.
A ceremonial groundbreaking was held on March 11, with construction slated to begin shortly thereafter. The build is expected to take approximately two months, with completion targeted for the spring season.
“We are thrilled to partner with Gray Digital Media and significantly contribute to the growth of WFSB 3’s broadcasting capabilities with this outdoor studio,” said Roger Barrett III, Third Generation Officer, at Country Carpenters. “This collaboration reflects our dedication to combining traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation, and we’re excited to see the Country Cabin design come to life in this unique way.”
Gray Digital Media’s expertise in digital marketing will help showcase the legacy and quality craftsmanship of Country Carpenters and its sister companies: Post and Beam Barns and Early New England Homes. From its celebrated Post and Beam Barns to the Early New England style homes, Country Carpenters has been a trusted name in handcrafted buildings for over 50 years.
“We’re incredibly excited about this project and our partnership with Country Carpenters,” said WFSB-TV Regional Vice President /General Manager Dana Neves. “So much of what we do lends itself to being outside. Everything from First Alert Weather and being in the elements to Great Day Connecticut, grilling, and gardening. It’s another way that WFSB is investing in local news and telling better local stories.”
